About the Producer


The Cellar of Carpi and Sorbara is a Co-operative with 1,200 producer members that have a production capacity of about 450,000 hectoliters of wine per year.


It was founded in 2012 by the merger of two historic companies on the Modena wine scene. The Carpi Winery, which was founded in 1903 and a pioneering example of Agricultural Cooperation, and the Sorbara Winery, the name that quintessentially identifies Lambrusco DOC. The wine production is focused on the Lambrusco wines: Sorbara, Salamino, Maestri, Marani, Viadanese and on the Pignoletto. The winery has aimed at demanding and competent customers.


The result, today, is that their wines, thanks to modern production methods, are particularly taken care of for their organoleptic characteristics. Lambrusco, today, for the greater simplicity and lightness of the meals, is considered for its simple and disarming authenticity and freshness suitable for all food preparations.

  • Type and Denomination: Lambrusco di Modena DOP : Sparkling Sweet Red Wine

  • Production Area: Bomporto, Carpi

  • Grape variety: Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes, Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce grapes.

  • Vinification: Red vinification with a short maceration on the skins, Cleaning of the must and fermentation at controlled temperature with selected yeasts. Second fermentation for froth.

  • Organoleptic Characteristics: Sparkling wine with vinous and fruity aroma; the flavour is sweet and full body. Deep red colour. Persistent froth.

  • Alcohol: 8,5% vol.

  • Service Temperature: 12°-14°

  • Bottle size: 750 ml

  • Food pairing: Pork, Rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), Mature and hard cheese, Poultry, Cured Meat
