Veneto is celebrated for its dazzling array of wines. From the sparkling elegance of Prosecco: crafted from the native Glera grape in the rolling hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, to the robust, full-bodied Amarone della Valpolicella made from partially dried Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, every sip captures the essence of its terroir. The region is also renowned for the refined whites of Soave, predominantly produced from Garganega, and the fruity charm of Bardolino reds.
Boasting 14 DOCGs, 29 DOCs, and 10 IGTs, Veneto produces over 11.9 million hectoliters of wine annually across nearly 97,500 hectares of vineyards—with white wines representing the lion’s share of production. The principal grape varieties include Glera, Garganega, Merlot, Corvina, and Pinot Grigio, each contributing to a portfolio that ranges from fresh, crisp spritzers to deep, concentrated reds.

The Plains
The Venetian lagoon, the valleys of Treviso and the plains drenched by the Piave River produce the fresh, festive and fabulous Prosecco, made with local Glera grapes.

The Hills
The southern slopes of the Alps, the area around Lake Garda and the city of Verona yield grapes such as Garganega, whence the lovely Soave white wines, and the almost black Corvina and Rondinella grapes, amongst others, which produce one of the greatest red wines, the Amarone, as well as Bardolino.
