Ambassador de Luca virtually meets young people on climate

Updated: Apr 7, 2022

The third virtual edition of the Youth Climate Conclave ended today in Delhi. The event was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Italy to India, Vincenzo de Luca, by the EU Head of Delegation, Ambassador Ugo Astuto, by the DG of the TERI think-tank and by the representative of the Indian Ministry of the Environment.

The initiative, which was attended by more than 300 young Indians, is the result of a consolidated collaboration with the European Delegation and with TERI for a reflection on climate, with particular reference to the active role of young people.

Ambassador De Luca recalled the leading role played by Italy at the "Youth4climate: driving ambition" event, held last September in Milan, as part of the Pre-Cop26 work, which was attended by 400 young people from 189 countries around the world, including India.

"The younger generations are today at the center of the decision-making process on the climate agenda", emphasized de Luca.

The Ambassador also recalled that "Italy has chosen the path of sustainability: the protection of the environment is now part of our Constitution". And he concluded: "Everything fits fully into the framework of the strategic partnership on the energy transition between the two countries, which, formalized by the Leaders last October, involves the entire Italian production chain in the renewable, green hydrogen, sustainable mobility, green chemistry"
