Sikkim became the first fully organic state in India. North East has traditionally been organic and consumption of chemicals is far less than the rest of the country. Commodities: ginger, turmeric, black rice, pineapples, Nutri cereals, buckwheat, bamboo shoots have the highest potential as demand for health foods increases.
