About the Event

India is currently at the epicenter of the global pandemic. Over half of the world's cases of COVID-19 are in India right now, with the numbers of new daily cases consistently over the 400,000 mark. One in four of the world’s COVID-19 deaths are occurring in India, with the actual numbers likely to be much higher than those recorded. The capacity of hospitals and the entire healthcare infrastructure is beyond stretched: hospitals have stopped admitting patients because they are running low on vital supplies, equipment, and oxygen.

The need of the hour is hands-on support to India – supplying in large numbers oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders, oxygen plants, other medical equipment and solutions, and medical supplies. Great and swift support has already been extended by various European Union Member States via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Complementing this commendable effort, additional support is being facilitated by some EU bilateral chambers particularly IICCI - The Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Together they have formed a task force which is supported by the EEN India node European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC). All have garnered incredible support from Member companies and have successfully put in place frameworks and projects to enable and channel that support to where it is needed. A mechanism has been put in place to efficiently procure and provide medical equipment and devices required to those in need across India.

In light of this, EEN India-EBTC in collaboration with the bilateral chambers’ task force EBTC and supported by EUROCHAMBRES and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform is organizing an info session entitled “Covid relief India – Team Europe” on Friday 28th May 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm CET / 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm IST.

This initiative is an important component of Europe’s COVID relief support including medical supplies, medical equipment, financial contributions, and more.

Registration: After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. In case of any issues or questions, please write a mail to: iicci@indiaitaly.com
