India jumps 5 ranks to be 35th in Worldwide Education for Future Index 2019

India jumped five ranks in the Worldwide Education for the Future Index (WEFFI) 2019 according to a report published by The Economist Intelligence Unit. Countries are ranked on the basis of their ability to equip students with skill-based education “in areas such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership as well as digital and technical skills.”

“Among the world’s largest economies, the US, UK, France and Russia all fell back in the index, while China, India and Indonesia took steps forward,” the report said. India ranked 35th with a total score of 53 based on 3 categories: policy environment, teaching environment and overall socio-economic environment. According to the report, India made a particular stride in policy environment with the emergence of new national education policy in early 2019

It's encouraging to see India making progress in an index that values critical thinking, problem-solving, and future-ready skills. Achievements like this highlight the importance of continuously improving education systems and creating more opportunities for learners. The phrase "Take my online class" also comes to mind because it reflects how online learning has become an important part of modern education, making quality learning more accessible for many students. Hoping to see even greater progress in the years ahead.

That’s really impressive progress for India! Moving up five ranks shows that the country is truly investing in skill-based learning and future-ready education. The focus on critical thinking, leadership, and digital skills is definitely the right direction for preparing students for global opportunities. I’ve noticed that more students are also turning to digital learning platforms and tutors to enhance these skills — many even look for experts to take my online class or guide them through complex subjects. It’s great to see education evolving with both strong policies and modern learning methods!
