Goodness Revealed with Pasta Garofalo's Spaghetti

The first confirmation of the word “spaghetti” is found in the dictionary of the Italian language by Niccolo Tommaseo and Bernardo Bellini of 1819, where it reads “pasta of the thickness of a small and long string, like sopracappellini” (Spago means string in Italian).

Spaghetti is a type of long pasta. Rough to the touch thanks to the processing with bronze drawing, Garofalo Spaghetti stick to condiments. Garofalo was established in Gragnano, the homeland of pasta. The climatic conditions of the area are perfect for drying pasta, and the presence of spring water that fed the mills made Gragnano the ideal place for the production of pasta. It is a brand that is highly appreciated and recognised for its unmistakable identity in Italy and in the world.

Garofalo’s quality is unmistakable and the product speaks for itself. At the base is their dedication to excellence, their desire to make the pleasure of good food an exact science, without giving up creativity. At the end of the eighteenth century, with a Royal Decree, Michele Garofalo obtained the exclusive concession for the production of pasta as it was considered “well-made”.

Strengthened by their Gragnano heritage, they love to carry on the precious tradition of their land, raising its quality based on the highest contemporary standards and increasingly making their pasta a refined taste experience.

The long and thin shape with a round section creates infinite possible combinations given the great versatility of this type of Pasta di Gragnano IGP (PGI). The traditional Neapolitan recipe that is most commonly enjoyed with this shape of pasta is Spaghetti con vongole paesane (with local clams).
