Italian Language Courses
Besides customized courses organized for companies, IICCI also organizes general language courses open to everybody.
A complete diploma course comprises three Levels:
1) Fist Level – Beginner,
2) Second Level – Intermediate,
3) Third Level – Advanced.
The duration of each level is 44 hours, but which can also be customized according to your requirements.
Our lessons follows the guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe, known as CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment). The three reference levels according to CEFR are becoming widely accepted as the standard for grading an individual's language proficiency:
First Level – Beginner
- Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases ;
- Introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details;
- Can interact in a simple way, provided the other person talks slowly and clearly.
Second Level – Intermediate
- Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (eg, very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment);
- Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information;
- Describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Third Level – Advanced
- Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school, leisure, etc.
- Deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken;
- Produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest;
- Describe experiences and events and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Students are examined at the end of each level, and on completing the entire course will receive the Diploma certificate from the Italian Embassy.
Translations & Interpretations
Many official transactions require documents to be submitted in Italian according to exact specifications. The Chamber has professional translators, who are native Italian speakers and who are conversant with legal and technical terminology. The Chamber also undertakes translations for other purposes from Italian into English or vice versa, such as reports or introduction to business partners.
We also assist our clients in business negotiations with our professional team of interpreters, who are fluent in interpreting from Italian into English and vice versa – and often into and from a local Indian language. They are also available to travel to destinations within.
For more information or to submit a document for translation, please contact:
