Festa Italiana 2008 is the annual flagship event of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry showcased the Best of Italy in India.

Last year at its 7th edition, Festa Italiana 2008 was:

The activities planned for last year included:
Vetrina Italiana November 5-9, 2008, Nehru Centre, Mumbai An exhibition intended exclusively for Italian brands to enable them to project their 'Made in Italy' image. It was open from 10am to 8pm on 5, 6, 7 November and from 10am to 10pm on 8 and 9 November.
The Nehru Centre exhibition area was divided into six categories: - Automotive and Transport: Cars, two and three wheelers to highlight the best of Italian design and technology. - Sistema Casa: A modern Italian House was constructed to provide an overview of the world-renowned Italian technology and design. - Sistema Persona: An area displaying the ‘Made in Italy’ collections ranging from clothing and footwear to cosmetics and eyewear and other fashion accessories. - Tourism: Indian tourism operator promoted Italy as a tourist destination in collaboration with ENIT, the Italian State Tourist Board. - Food: A typical Italian gastronomic ambience was created to provide the Indian consumer with a true taste and experience of Italian flavours. - Services: Italian banks and financial institutions, logistics companies and other bodies engaged in offering services between India and Italy was represented here.
Seminars & Round Tables November 5-9, 2008 - Nehru Centre, Mumbai These events were focused on the most advanced technologies applied by Italian manufacturers in collaboration with Italian companies present in India:
- Experiences in Logistics: Handling, transport and distribution of Italian and Indian goods; November 5th, 11.00 am; a seminar organised in collaboration with Nethun Spa and Maharashtra Maritime Board. - Innovative Eco-Technologies & Designs for the Automotive Sector - An Italian perspective; November 6th, 10.00am: A round table focusing on alternative fuels conducted in collaboration with Fiat Piaggio and the Automotive Components Manufacturing Association. - Building Technologies; November 7th, 10.00am; a seminar organised in collaboration with ICMQ, an Italian certification body which operates in the construction and building products and services sector. - Fashion Trend Forecasting; November 7th, 10.00am; a seminar conducted in collaboration with Istituto Marangoni, one of Italy's leading fashion and design schools. The seminar revolved around understanding the development and needs of a modern and complex luxury goods market, which requires ever more precise information about market requirements. - Italian design solutions for new Indian living spaces; November 7th, 7.00pm; a seminar on Italian Interior Design, conducted in conjunction with Indian Institute of Interior Design and the Italian architecture firm, Silvio De Ponte Architects. The seminar addressed constructors, interior designers, project consultants, importers and distributors of Italian brands, students and sector journalists.
Impresa Awards November 4, 2008 - Nehru Centre, Mumbai Instituted in 1999, the Awards pioneered the recognition of entrepreneurs that have significantly contributed towards strengthening and building trade and commerce between India and Italy. Already in its 5th edition, the event was by far one of the most unique and exclusive event of its kind, taking place in India today.
Cucina November 3-15, 2008 - Nehru Centre, Mumbai Cookery and Italian food-making demonstrations allowed visitors to learn about things such as how authentic Italian handmade pasta, risotto, cheese, honey, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and salami are made and used in Italian cuisine. The food festival was organised in collaboration with renowned Italian restaurants in Bombay.
Musica November 12, 2008 - Nehru Centre, Mumbai The Indo-Italian Chamber along with the Neemrana Music Foundation and NCPA hosted 'Violetta - A Traviata', a Melodrama in 1 Act, performed by soloists and orchestra.
Italian Language Day November 6, 2008 - Nehru Centre, Mumbai The Italian Language Day was a celebration of the language, food and culture of Italy. The event began with introductory remarks from the Indo-Italian Chamber’s language teachers, followed by short presentations on tourism in Italy, and also food, lifestyle, and cinema.
